Pet Candy Magazine: February 2021 with Tatiana Rogers

This month we are introducing you to America’s sweetheart, Tatiana Rogers. Tatiana’s interest in animals began at an early age—she spent her childhood looking for ways to help injured wildlife and stray animals that crossed her path.

Raised by a single mother and her grandparents and living in a low-income, minority neighborhood of South Central Los Angeles, she attended school in a predominately white area in Santa Monica. At school, she felt like an outsider and was ashamed of her heritage. She tried to conceal who she was so she could fit in with other students. She didn’t want anyone to know that she spoke Spanish, and she straightened her naturally curly hair. As she matured, she realized the mistake she was making and vowed to never again be ashamed of who she was.

We all have plenty to learn from Tatiana. We hope her story inspires you to dream big and never let anyone stop you from being your beautiful self.
